TUS Exam

The TUS Exam is the qualifying exam for students to pursue their higher education in the field of medicine (medicine major in Turkish universities) after completing their bachelor’s degree.

Information about studying medicine in Turkey: 

  • The duration of study in medical faculties in Turkey is six years. It is worth mentioning that the ranking of medical faculties in Turkey is 12th among medical faculties worldwide.
  • Graduates of these faculties can take the Higher Medical Education Examination (TUS). Upon passing this exam, they can specialize in the medical field of their choice. After completing the specialization period, they become specialist physicians.
  • All students studying in medical faculties in Turkey must undergo practical training in hospitals according to the program determined by the faculty.

  • Faculty of Medicine at Hacettepe University in Ankara
  • Faculty of Medicine at Marmara University in Istanbul
  • Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine

Studying Dentistry in Turkey:

The duration of study in Turkish dental faculties is five years. Practical lessons begin in the fourth year. Student groups are required to examine and diagnose a certain number of patients.
To graduate from dental faculties in Turkey, students must pass forensic medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, general surgery, and otolaryngology courses.
It has become necessary for dentists wishing to pursue their postgraduate studies and specialization to pass the Dental Postgraduate Education Examination (DUS).
